In Dublin's fair city,
Where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"
This statue, at the bottom of Grafton Street, was unveiled in 1988.
The statue has a variety of nicknames, for example, "The Tart with the Cart".
The tart is, perhaps, a reference to her extremely low-cut dress, which, apparently, was justified by the statement, "women breastfed publicly in Molly's time, breasts were popped out all over the place".
This quote comes from the Irish Times, 30th September 1989.

This is a great shot! Again, this is surreal for me to see snaps of a place I've been. (I think I consider my entire European visit surreal, actually!)
Love it! The tart with the cart indeed! Snicker.
