Trams are a new sight on Dublin's streets since I was last there.
So it was a bit of a shock to discover that the Luas* opened for business on 30th June 2004.
Can it possibly be that long since I walked around the city centre?
* Luas is the Irish word for "speed".

I rode the tram often when I was there because there was a stop about 1 block from my flat. It was a nice way to get around! (Thought speed doesn't come to mind when I think of Dublin's trams!)
